Graded Stakes Winner Van Zant to New Mexico for 2015

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—Grade 3 stakes winner Van Zant SI 109 will stand the 2015 season at Sierra Blanca Equine, near Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico. His 2015 fee has been set at $1,250 with special consideration to approved mares.


Owned and raced by Harvey Baeza of Odessa, Texas, Van Zant won or placed in 15 races, earning $133,950. He won the RG3 Manuel Lujan Stakes, Animas Stakes, was second in the Ruidoso Juvenile Invitational and third in the All American Gold Cup(G2), Mr Jet More Handicap(G3) and All American Juvenile Invitational. He was also a finalist to the Grade 3 Sunland Park Winter Derby.

His top performers include two-time champion Strawkins SI 108 ($614,156), G1 winner Sixish SI 114 ($530,505), G3 winner Sparky E Boy SI 111 ($352,224), Grade 1 winner Starlet Hawk SI 110 ($250,714), Grade 3 winner Bf Farm Boy SI 106 (10 wins to 6, 2014, $236,255), etc.


Van Zant is out of the G1 Rainbow Futurity finalist Pretty Jet High, by On A High, who is the dam of 14 ROM including stakes winner Van Zant SI 109, stakes-placed Ought To Be Higher SI 104 ($65,717), stakes-placed G1 finalist Loved Her First SI 92 ($36,502) and stakes-placed The Palm SI 91 ($11,787). She is the granddam of RG3 winner Chicks A Dashin SI 116 ($168,791), RG3-placed Iseeyoustaring SI 95 ($90,717), etc.

MakeItSpecialSheSaid Breaks Her Maiden at Zia Park

Makeitspecialshesaid, a sorrel filly by Furyofthewind out of Make It Special, by Make It Anywhere, broke her maiden at Zia Park earlier today in race 10 over a fast track.   Makeitspecialshesaid was bred in North Dakota by the Gary B Bean Estate and currently owned by Jocob Urias.  Trained by Harvey Baeza and ridden by Oscar Cordova.

Jess a Lilbit Shady Powers Ahead of Field to Break His Maiden

Sired by Mr. Jess Perry, the 5 yr old, Jess a Lilbit Shady ran an impressive race going 350 yards to break his maiden at Ruidoso Downs on 6-01-14. Owned by Daniel Sanchez of Midland, Texas and ridden by Oscar Cordova, the gelding broke on top and separated himself from the field crossing the wire by four lengths.

SWEX Cashes In the Oklahoma-Bred Money

Bred by Corner K Quarter Horses LLC, the Heritage Place graduate marked his second career win after placing in his last out at Remington Park. Hand ridden by talented jockey Omar Reyes, the 3 yr old bay colt broke sharp to gain an early lead and finished a length ahead of the field. SWEX has now increased his earnings to over $38,000 for Valeriano Racing Stables of Odessa, Texas.

Abra Cadabraa Gets a WIN at Remington Park

Owner/Breeder A & F Racing LLC cheered on ABRA CADABRAA as she raced to the winners circle tonight at Remington Park in Oklahoma City.   This win was well deserved after loosing the Deckatta Stakes by a nose earlier in March.   She is by Feature Mr Jess and out of the Dash To Chivato mare- Shes A Magic Juan.      Abra Cadabraa was ridden by Berkley Packer and conditioned by Cuadra El Norte.  

Latest Theory Back In The Winners Circle

The Oklahoma bred gelding, Latest Theory, by Latest Version is trainer Harvey Baeza's latest winner.  The Angel Nieto owned horse ran a stunning 16.37 in the 330 yard race at Remington Park on March 21, 2014, with Berkley Packard aboard.  The sorrel three-year old adds another $8,100 to his winnings.

Back To Back Wins for Public Enemies

After winning last October at Sunland Park, Trainer Harvey Baeza captured another win on March 21, 2014 at Remington Park with Public Enemies.  With Berkley Packard aboard, Public Enemies clocked a speedy 15.14 in the 300 yard race taking home his share of the $17,700 purse.  The Valeriano Racing Stables, LLC owned five-year-old gelding is by Valiant Hero and out of Dash For Cash grandaughter, Daring Difference.    

McClure Filly Breaks Maiden

Bob McClure's three-year-old home-bred filly, Sissyshardhitingame, added $7,110 to her winnings on Friday evening, March 20, 2014, at Remington Park.  Jockey, Jesse Lee Levario was up clocking 15.57 at 300 yards.  Sissyshardhitingame is by Hard Hitting, and out of an own daughter of Game Patriot, Sissys Game.  

Purdy Near Prieta Wins Again

The four-year-old black beauty pulls off another great win at Remington Park earlier tonight in the first race.   Elizabeth Canda's filly broke well and led the field for the 870 yard race.   Tony Guymon was aboard.   Purdy Near Prieta is by Corona Czech and out of the Special Task mare, Purdy Near Perfect. 

Bella Luna Breaks Her Maiden at Sunland Park

Bella Luna, owned by A and F Racing LLC broke her maiden at Sunland park in Race #1.    The FDD Dynasty filly ran 440 yards under the guidance of Efrain Vigi.     Todays win totals over $18,000 earned in 2014.
